Diakron is a platform and studio for transdisciplinary research and practice. We establish collaborations across disciplinary backgrounds and institutional frameworks. Our own backgrounds are composed of experiences from artistic practices, curatorial practices, social sciences and graphic design.
Diakron is based on explorative research as a core value. This means, that we adapt what our practices do and what the organization is, according to the research projects we undertake.
We are currently interested in creative and explorative ways of identifying and dealing with changes, that invisibly permeate or unavoidably overwhelm ways of life. This work is tied to concerned interests in various pervasive ecological, humanitarian, existential, digital, or economic shifts. We approach these issues through experimentation with our own ways of working and the relationships we maintain through our practices.
Our modes of engagement, processes of making and research methodologies grow out of our projects and collaborations. We combine our transdisciplinary outset with an open-ended and relational approach to methodological experimentation. Outputs and expressions are not predetermined, but are developed in a responsive manner according to each research process.

In 2018 I received a PhD scholarship, for a project titled “Artistic Practice and Systems Change: A Mission-oriented Sector of Art”. The project elaborates a framework for a mission-oriented sector of art, based on foundational principles of diversification and specialisation of the sector of art, as guided by articulate missions and directions, adding up to ecosystems of art, capable of ongoing adaption and reinvention.
The project includes fragments and outtakes from projects I’ve worked on between 2014-22, which in different ways occupy a position in the overall sector of art. This includes strategic and developmental work done in the context of UKK, Organization for Artists, Curators and Art Mediators, an art strategy and the first steps of its implementation, at The Department of Computer Science at Copenhagen University, Primer in collaboration with water technology company Aquaporin and the early steps towards coordination across actors and projects in the space of artistic, science and technological development work at a global level.
The PhD was concluded in 2022 and the public defence was held on October 7th, 2022. Download the PhD here.
The PhD was funded by The Novo Nordisk Foundation, hosted by The Laboratory for Art Research at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Visual Arts and administered by Institute for Communication and Culture, Aarhus University. My supervisor was professor Jacob Wamberg. Aslak Aamot Helm of Diakron was co-supervisor. The layout of the thesis was made by Asger Behncke Jacobsen.
